Snowed In!

We had a beautiful white Christmas this year! I'm talking over 9 inches of snow here in Holliday, TX. We're just not equipped for that kind of weather around here because it never happens!

I sure am missing my husband though. It's our 1st Christmas as a married couple (even though we've been together for almost 5 years). He works for TxDOT in Seymour and worked about 20 hours yesterday and 13 hours today and i'm sure he'll be at it again tomorrow. I haven't seen him at all since Wednesday (i'm trapped in Holliday at my parent's house) so maybe we'll do our Christmas on Saturday or Sunday.

It's a good thing Cody and I are used to being apart all the time. I live in Lubbock while attending physical therapy school and he lives about 160 miles away in Seymour. We joke that we have a "weekend marriage". We should be able to live together by August though if everything works out (keep your fingers crossed for us because we'll have a newborn by then, too). Cody spent last Christmas in Iraq so I'm just happy to have him back safely and that I get to talk to him this year!

Our dog, Bailey, sure loves all the snow! She just leaps though it all and buries her head in it. I had so much fun watching her play.

My very first blog!

I've talked about starting a blog for several months now and now I have finally done it! I thought it would be a good and quick way to journal/scrapbook since I never seem to have time to do that anymore. Plus, it would be a good way to keep up with family/friends. If you know me very well, you probably already know these things about me:
  1. My life has changed drastically in the last year and will change even more come July (when Cody, my husband, and I are due to have our first child).
  2. I have what I like to call "weird luck". This basically means that I tend to experience things that most people think would never happen. It usually makes for some very entertaining stories for my closest friends (this is where my blog title comes in). Stick around long enough and you may start to understand what I mean (as long as I feel comfortable enough telling these stories to anyone who comes across them).
  3. I value honesty and therefore I am a very honest person who tells it like I see it. I'm also not a very private person. This means that it is possible that you could come across some posts with information that you may care to know nothing about. But, as I said before, I'm starting this blog as a way to journal and scrapbook for myself so I just have to apologize in advance.

Merry Christmas!! Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed holiday!
